New Hotels and Resorts in Qatar for 2022

In 2022, the World Cup in Qatar will play host to an estimated 1.2 million visitors, all looking for a place to stay. And, while the tiny Middle Eastern nation has a multitude of accommodation to offer, new hotels and lodgings are popping up with surprising regularity.

For ideas on where to rest your weary head during the 2022 tournament, check out these places recently constructed, or to be opened in time for kick-off:

Aleph Doha Residences:

Though Hilton Hotels already own several hotels in Doha, the Aleph Doha Residents is the first of the global brand's Curio Collection. Built in conjunction with the Al Rayyan Tourism Investment Company (ARTIC), the 52-storey residential tower opened for business in September 2020.

Located in West Bay on the northern end of the city's Corniche, the new hotel offers 240 one, two and three-bedroom luxury apartments for guests and longer-term residents. Each room boasts floor to ceiling windows with spectacular views across the Persian Gulf, the impressive skyscrapers of the business district, or the coastal diplomatic district.

Guests can make use of the hotel's many facilities, including the indoor swimming pool housed on the buildings 52nd floor - the highest pool in Doha. Refreshments can be found in the hotel restaurant, the Grab and Go pantry, or via room service - pre-cooked meals ready to be cooked 'at home'.

The hotel is also part of the 'Hilton Clean Stay' programme for cleanliness and disinfection - allowing guests to enjoy peace of mind knowing rooms and public areas are cleaned and disinfected regularly and to high standards.

Corinthia Doha:

The Corinthia Doha will be just one development on Gewan Island set to open towards the end of 2022. The man-made Gewan Island is currently being constructed next to The Pearl-Qatar. It aims to be an entertainment, retail and residential destination with waterfront promenades, beaches and marinas lined with cafes and restaurants.

The Corinthia Doha will be the first of the global Corinthia portfolio of hotels to be built in Qatar. Once opened, the hotel will offer 110 guest rooms, a variety of international eateries, and relaxing spa facilities. The luxury property will also boast a banqueting hall with an outdoor patio to host up to 1,000 guests. Outside the lavish features will continue with beachfront villas, beach club and golf course for guests.

Swissôtel:

Set to open in 2022, the Swissôtel will incorporate 350 five-star hotel rooms, plus over one hundred luxury residential suites. The development will be the Middle East’s first Swissôtel combined hotel and residential project. Housed alongside the hotel rooms and residential suites will be numerous podium and mezzanine floors for luxury and boutique retail outlets, as well as cafes and restaurants. In addition, the development will provide commercial space for rent.

Located in Doha’s bustling West Bay, the city’s largest area of sky-scraping towers, the property promises to be an iconic building with sensational views across the Gulf and of the city’s old town.

Residents and guests will be able to make use of a host of facilities including restaurants, meeting and conference spaces, spa facilities, gym, swimming pool and fitness club. And, residents will have access to a magnificent residents lounge on the top floor of the building and houses a private pool and gym.
