From the Airport to the Stadiums
In 2022, football fans will be able to reach any of Qatar's eight World Cup stadiums from Hamad International Airport in less than an hour.
Never before in the history of the World Cup have football fans been able to land in a host country and reach each of the tournament's stadiums so quickly. Of Qatar's eight World Cup stadiums, Ras Abu Aboud Stadium can be reached from the Arrivals Hall in just over 10 minutes by road or rail. The furthest stadium from the airport, Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, is a mere 68km and can be reached in under an hour.
In comparison, the World Cup 2018 stadiums in Russia were spread over a staggering 1,800 mile area. From Moscow to Ekaterinburg Arena, the furthest stadium from the capital city, fans needed to travel by air for over two hours.
