Age versus Kilometres

Camel race distances vary depending on the age of the camels running.

Camels begin their racing careers around 2-3 years of age. Camels between the ages of 2-4 years old, race distances of between 4-5 km; animals over the age of 6 years can race up to 6 km.

Because of the weight difference between male and female camels, they generally race separately, as do geldings and studs.
